The Oils
Avocado Oil adds conditioning properties and creamy lather.
Castor Oil is amazing is soap because it boosts those bubbles while adding conditioning and moisturizing properties.
Coconut Oil is super cleansing and makes lots of soap lather!
Olive Oil is very conditioning and makes a dense, creamy lather.
Palm Oil works with coconut oil to add stability to soap lather. It also helps create a hard bar of soap.
Shea Butter adds conditioning properties and makes a hard bar with stable lather.
Soybean Oil makes creamy, stable lather. It is also a bar hardener.
The Lye Solution
Lye is a necessity in cold process soap. Our soap is super-fatted at 4-6% to ensure all lye is gone after saponification is complete. It's organic chemistry!
Beer produces a creamy conditioning lather and lots of bubbles! It has a silky feel.
Coconut Milk is known for its mild and gentle cleansing properties as well as contributing to a creamy and luxurious lather in soap.
Goat's Milk is used in place of water in goats milk soap. The high fat content of goat's milk allows for a gentle removal of dirt.

Water is used to dissolve lye. It is used in our Rustic collection.
The Additives
Bentonite Clay provides gentle exfoliation, gives shave soap a good "slip", and gives soap a smooth silky lather.
Coffee Grounds add an extra level of exfoliation.
Colloidal Oats have been used to provide relief for various skin conditions and are a gentle exfoliate.
Ground Pumice really helps get the grit off.
Kaolin Clay gives soap a silky, creamy lather.
Walnut Shell Powder is a fantastic exfoliant. It's not super scratchy.
